110 Palestinian Martyrs in Occupation Prisons Since Ben Gvir Took Over National Security
SadaNews - The Hebrew site "Walla" reported that 110 Palestinians have died in Israeli prisons since Itamar Ben Gvir took over the Ministry of National Security.
According to the report, the number of martyrs has reached 110 cases since Ben Gvir assumed office, a figure unprecedented in a short period of time.
Palestinian and international human rights organizations accuse Israeli authorities of medical neglect and mistreatment, as well as harsh detention conditions, such as deprivation of adequate food and healthcare.
Other human rights reports indicated that some deaths were due to physical violence and malnutrition, while Israeli authorities have not disclosed complete data on all cases.
The majority of the victims are either administrative detainees or residents of Gaza who were arrested after the last war, with human rights organizations indicating that there are hundreds of missing persons whose fate remains unknown.
Itamar Ben Gvir, known for his hardline stances towards Palestinians, took over the Ministry of National Security in the recent Israeli government and directly oversees the prison service.
Since taking office, he has made strict decisions regarding Palestinian prisoners, including reducing family visits, tightening detention conditions, and cutting basic services within prisons.
These policies have drawn widespread criticism from the international community, as human rights organizations considered them a violation of international humanitarian law, particularly the Geneva Conventions that guarantee the rights of prisoners.
