SadaNews - Today, Monday, the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, the Acting Minister of Finance, Estefan Salama, received a payment of the grant provided to the State of Palestine by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia worth 90 million dollars, as part of the ongoing Saudi support to the State of Palestine for the year 2025.
The payment was delivered at the headquarters of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the Jordanian capital, Amman, during a meeting between Minister Salama and the Saudi Ambassador to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the non-resident commissioner to the State of Palestine, Prince Mansour bin Khalid bin Farhan Al Saud, at the embassy's premises in Jordan.
Salama praised the ongoing financial and political support from the Kingdom, confirming the importance of this contribution in alleviating the severity of the financial crisis facing the State of Palestine, in light of the recent Israeli policies, expressing his deep appreciation for the Kingdom's steadfast historical stance towards the Palestinian people.
Salama valued the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's historical and steadfast position towards Palestine and its support for its legitimate rights and the establishment of its independent state, conveying greetings from President Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and Crown Prince Prime Minister Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, for their continuous political, economic, and humanitarian support.
For his part, Prince Mansour bin Khalid confirmed the Kingdom's unwavering, historical commitment to supporting the Palestinian people and their just and legitimate rights to establish their independent state, referring to the political efforts made by the Kingdom recently in the framework of its presidency - in cooperation with France - of the high-level international conference in New York to support the Palestinian cause and implement the two-state solution, and the results achieved through wide international recognition of the Palestinian state and the two-state solution.
The Saudi Ambassador explained that this support comes as part of the leadership's keenness to support the Palestinian government and enable it to fulfill its financial obligations, noting the importance of this aid in enhancing the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and alleviating their suffering in facing economic and humanitarian challenges, and supporting key sectors, primarily health and education, continuing the continuous economic, developmental, relief, and humanitarian support from the Kingdom to the State of Palestine.
