Trump Announces Permanent Immigration Halt from All Third World Countries

SadaNews - President Donald Trump said that his administration will work to permanently halt immigration from all "third world countries" until the American system fully recovers, a day after an Afghan national shot at two National Guard soldiers in Washington.

Trump wrote on social media, "I will permanently stop immigration from all third world countries to allow the American system to fully recover." He also threatened to cancel "millions" of accepted applications granted during the tenure of his predecessor, Joe Biden, and to "deport anyone who does not provide additional value to the United States."

Trump also clarified that he will put an end to all federal aid and benefits for non-American citizens and will deport any foreigner who poses a security risk or "does not align with Western civilization."

His angry post, which he concluded by wishing Americans a happy Thanksgiving, represents an escalation in the anti-immigration policy he is adopting in his second presidential term, characterized by a large-scale deportation campaign of many immigrants. He said, "We will strive to achieve these goals in order to significantly reduce the numbers of illegal and disruptive populations."

Earlier on Thursday, the Trump administration announced that it would review all permanent resident statuses known as "Green Cards" for individuals from more than 12 countries, following the shooting of National Guard personnel in Washington. Joseph Edlow, the Director of Customs and Immigration Services, wrote on the platform X, "I have directed a comprehensive and thorough re-examination of all permanent resident (Green Card) cases for every foreign national from every concerning country."

President Donald Trump had previously categorized 19 countries as "concerning," including Afghanistan, from which the shooting suspect originates.
