Casualties in Ukraine Following Russian Shelling
SadaNews - Ukrainian authorities reported that at least 3 people were killed and others injured - including 3 children - in Russian missile strikes targeting the Kharkiv region in eastern Ukraine.
Vitaly Karabanov, head of the military administration in Kharkiv, stated in a post on Telegram that the Russian army carried out two missile strikes on the center of Balakliia.
Karabanov added that according to initial information, 3 people were killed, and 10 others were injured, including children, with 9 of them being transferred to hospitals. He emphasized that there may be potential additional injuries that have not yet been reported.
Earlier, Oleg Sinegubov, the governor of the Kharkiv region, stated that among the injured were a 14-year-old girl, a 12-year-old boy, and a 61-year-old man.
Since the beginning of the war in February 2022, Russia has been targeting Ukrainian territories almost daily with drone strikes or missiles.
Seven people were killed when Russia bombed residential buildings across the capital, Kyiv, last Friday, coinciding with Moscow ramping up its attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure ahead of winter.
On the front lines, the Russian military announced yesterday that it had taken control of two villages in Zaporizhia in southern Ukraine, where its forces continue their slow advance, while Kyiv seeks to retain control of the city of Pokrovsk located to the east.
