President Abbas Arrives in France for Official Visit to Meet Macron
SadaNews - President Mahmoud Abbas of Palestine arrived in Paris this evening, Monday, for an official visit to the French Republic.
Upon his arrival, the president reviewed the honor guard lined up to greet him, while the Palestinian and French national anthems were played. He was welcomed by French Interior Minister Laurent Nunez.
He is scheduled to meet tomorrow, Tuesday, at the Élysée Palace with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, and will also meet with the President of the French National Assembly Yaël Braun-Pivet.
This visit, the first since France recognized the State of Palestine, is part of the coordination of positions between the Palestinian and French leaderships.
The president is accompanied by: Executive Committee member of the Palestine Liberation Organization Ziyad Abu Amro, the president's diplomatic advisor Majdi Khalidi, and the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to France Hala Abu Hseira.
