North Korea: The Denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula is a 'Pipe Dream'
SadaNews - North Korea described the call for denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, which South Korea mentioned will be discussed at a summit with China today, as a "unrealistic dream," according to the Korean Central News Agency.
Chinese President Xi Jinping and South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol are scheduled to hold a summit on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum being held in Gyeongju, South Korea.
The Office of the South Korean President announced on Friday that the two leaders will discuss the issue of denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
The Korean Central News Agency stated: "The Republic of Korea (South Korea) still does not understand that its earnest efforts to deny the status of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea) as a nuclear state and its daydreams about achieving denuclearization reveal its lack of sound reasoning."
The agency added, quoting a statement from Deputy Foreign Minister Park Myung-ho: "We will patiently show that denuclearization is merely a 'pipe dream' that will never come true."
