SadaNews - Settlers cut down dozens of olive trees today, Sunday, in the village of Al-Minia, south of Bethlehem.
The head of the village council of Al-Minia, Zaid Kawazba, reported to the official agency that settlers from "Ma'ale Amos," built on the lands of citizens, cut down olive trees planted in an area estimated at about two dunams in an area known as "Al-Qurm," belonging to the citizen Mahmoud Jabareen.
Kawazba added that settlers attacked farmers in the same area yesterday and severely beat Jabareen, resulting in a broken arm, before the occupation forces arrested him.
According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, its teams have recorded a total of 158 attacks against olive pickers since the beginning of the current season, where the occupation army carried out 17 attacks, while settlers executed 141.
During the annual olive picking season, Palestinian lands are subjected to repeated attacks by settlers and the occupation army, with farmers constantly facing assaults and violations that prevent them from accessing their lands, leading to significant financial losses and increasing their daily suffering under occupation.
Since October 7, 2023, settlers have carried out a total of 7,154 attacks against citizens and their properties, resulting in the martyrdom of 33 citizens in the West Bank.
The assaults by the occupation and its settlers have also led to the uprooting, breaking, and damaging of a total of 48,728 trees, including 37,237 olive trees, according to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission.
