Vance: The Gaza Plan is Advancing Better than Expected
SadaNews - JD Vance, the U.S. Vice President, confirmed in a press conference today, Tuesday, that the implementation of the ceasefire plan in Gaza "is progressing better than expected," praising Israel's cooperation.
Vance spoke at the civil-military coordination center in Kiryat Gat, southern Israel, where American forces have been deployed to monitor the ceasefire.
He stated, "The Israeli government has provided significant assistance in implementing the Gaza plan."
Vance indicated that the locations of some of the deceased hostages in Gaza are unknown, adding that the issue is "difficult" and will not be resolved overnight, and patience is required.
He confirmed that each country will have a role to play in implementing the ceasefire in Gaza and that nothing will be imposed on any ally. He also noted that no American forces will be deployed within the Gaza Strip.
He emphasized Israel's right to approve the type of forces that will be on the ground in Israel as part of the Trump plan, asserting that Turkey can play a constructive role without imposing anything on Israel.
He stated, "What we are doing now is focusing on the future in Gaza, and that is what President Trump asked for."
He stressed the need for Hamas to disarm and act properly and that fighters can receive amnesty, which will take time, asserting that if there is no cooperation, they will be eliminated.
For his part, U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff said that signing the Gaza agreement was a challenge, and implementation is the most crucial phase and the situation has exceeded our expectations.
Meanwhile, Jared Kushner stated that the United States is working to ensure the completion of the second phase of the Gaza agreement.
He added: "There are many excellent things happening regarding Gaza, and we will witness more progress."
He noted that the parties to the conflict in Gaza are transitioning from two years of war to an era of peace.
