Israel Begins Demarcation of the 'Yellow Line' in Gaza (Video)

SadaNews - The Israeli occupation army began on Monday the demarcation of the yellow line boundaries within the Gaza Strip based on instructions from Minister of Defense Yoav Galant.

A video showed vehicles carrying barriers painted in yellow.

According to the newspaper "Israel Hayom", Galant instructed the Israeli army to send a clear message to Hamas leaders in Gaza via the American monitoring mechanism, stating that "any Hamas member found behind the yellow line in areas under Israeli control must vacate the area immediately."

Galant added: "Hamas leaders are responsible for any incident. Anyone remaining in the area will be a target for attack without prior warning, allowing the Israeli army to operate freely and immediately against any threat."

Following the ceasefire in Gaza, the Israeli army withdrew under the terms of the current agreement to an area referred to as the "yellow line".

The yellow line, as drawn by the mediators, encompasses more than half of the Strip, or 53 percent of it, most of which lies outside populated areas.

In reality, the Israeli army does not control all this area with ground forces, but many of its troops are stationed near the border with Israel.

In potential future phases of the ceasefire agreement, the Israeli army will further withdraw its forces from the Strip.
