Rapid Developments in Fadel Shaker's Case After the Cancellation of His Absentee Sentences
SadaNews - Several sources revealed new developments in the case of Lebanese artist Fadel Shakir after he turned himself in to the Lebanese army for retrial on the charges against him since 2013, which included sentences up to 22 years.
Several local reports clarified that the investigation with artist Fadel Shakir has been completed, and his official statements have been submitted to the military court commissioner for legal review and comments, before being handed over to Brigadier General Bassam Fayyad, the head of the military court in Lebanon.
The head of the military court is expected to set a date for the first session of Fadel Shakir's trial, following the review of his legal file and statements made during the investigations for the retrial of the absentee sentences issued against him, which have been nullified since he turned himself in to the army at the beginning of this month.
Sources added that the date for the first trial session for Fadel Shakir may be set early next week, and the trial will continue for several sessions to listen to the defense team and witness statements.
