Sharm El-Sheikh Summit Brings Together President Abbas and Netanyahu to Solidify Ceasefire in Gaza
SadaNews: The Egyptian presidency announced that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will participate in the international peace summit hosted by the city of Sharm El-Sheikh today, Monday.
The summit, called by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, aims to solidify the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and affirm the commitment of the concerned parties to it. According to an official statement from the Egyptian presidency, "Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will participate in the peace summit in order to solidify the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and reaffirm commitment to it."
Channel 14 reported a phone call that took place between the Egyptian president and the Israeli prime minister in the presence of Trump, reflecting intensive efforts behind the scenes to ensure the success of the initiative. Channel 12 also confirmed Netanyahu's participation in the summit.
Meanwhile, special sources told Sada News yesterday that President Abbas received an official invitation from el-Sisi to attend the summit.
