Qatar Mourns Its Diplomats and Coordinates with Egypt to Transfer the Bodies to Doha
SadaNews - The Embassy of the State of Qatar in Cairo mourned its three diplomats who passed away in an accident in Egypt on Sunday, and announced coordination with Egyptian authorities to follow up on the conditions of the injured.
The embassy expressed in a statement "its deep sorrow and grief for the death of three members of the Amiri Diwan as a result of a tragic traffic accident in Sharm El Sheikh, while they were performing their work duties".
It added that the diplomats who were victims of the accident are: "Saud bin Thamer Al Thani, Abdullah Ghanem Al Khayarin, and Hassan Jaber Al Jaber", and noted that both "Abdullah Issa Al Kuwari and Mohammed Abdulaziz Al Bouainain" were injured.
The embassy confirmed "that it immediately began to follow up on the accident with the relevant Egyptian authorities, and that the deceased and the injured will be transported to Doha on a Qatari plane today (Sunday), while the injured are currently receiving the necessary medical care at Sharm El Sheikh International Hospital".
The embassy offered its condolences to the families of the deceased and expressed its gratitude to the Egyptian authorities for "their cooperation, concern, and attention in following up on the accident and providing the necessary facilitations".
It is worth noting that the deceased due to a car accident caused by speeding and a tire blowout did not participate in the Sharm El Sheikh negotiations regarding Gaza; rather, their task was to prepare logistics for the Qatari delegation that would participate in the signing ceremony of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza in Sharm El Sheikh on Monday.
