International Summit.. Egypt and the U.S. Sponsor Gaza Agreement in Sharm El-Sheikh with Attendance of 20 Countries

SadaNews - The Egyptian presidency announced that Egypt will host an international summit on Monday to discuss an agreement to end the war in Gaza, with more than 20 leaders in attendance, including U.S. President Donald Trump.

The Egyptian presidency clarified that the summit, which will be held in Sharm El-Sheikh under Egyptian and American leadership, aims to end the war in Gaza and enhance efforts to establish peace and regional security in the Middle East.

Axios reported that the U.S. State Department has sent invitations to several countries to attend the summit, including Spain and Iran.

For its part, the French presidency has announced that President Emmanuel Macron will participate in the summit.

The governments of Spain and Italy confirmed to Agence France-Presse the participation of Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

The British Prime Minister's office, led by Keir Starmer, mentioned on Saturday that the Prime Minister will travel to Egypt to attend the Sharm El-Sheikh peace summit.

The office stated that Starmer will commend the role of U.S. President Donald Trump and the diplomatic efforts made by Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey in mediating the agreement.

Starmer is expected to call for continued international coordination to implement the next phase, which includes deploying a mission to monitor the ceasefire and forming a transitional government in Gaza.

Axios mentioned the participation of leaders and foreign ministers from Germany, Qatar, the UAE, Jordan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Indonesia.

The summit is expected to help rally additional international support for Trump's peace plan in Gaza, as challenging issues regarding the governance of post-war Gaza, security, and reconstruction remain unresolved.

Trump is scheduled to arrive in Israel on Monday morning local time, where he will address the Knesset (parliament) and meet with families of Israeli captives in Gaza.

On the same afternoon, he will head to Egypt to meet with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and participate in the official signing ceremony of the ceasefire agreement, along with other guarantor states of the peace plan for Gaza.
