Hamas, Jihad, and the Popular Front: The Occupation Foiled the Release of a Significant Number of Prisoner Movement Leaders

SadaNews - Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine announced in a joint statement on Friday evening that the occupation foiled the release of a significant number of leaders of the prisoner movement during indirect negotiations held in Sharm El-Sheikh, which resulted in a ceasefire agreement regarding the war on the Gaza Strip.

The three Palestinian factions began their statement by saying, "In light of the announcement of the first phase of the agreement to cease and end the genocide war, and the marathon negotiations that the factions undertook to achieve this national accomplishment, the three factions extend their profound respect and admiration to the great people of our nation, especially to our people in the Gaza Strip, who faced the most heinous Zionist crimes with legendary resilience and steadfastness."

They extended "greetings to all martyrs and prisoners, to their families and the families of the missing, and to every child, girl, mother, young man, elder, and displaced person who stood firm on their land despite the tragedies, genocide, starvation, massacres, suffering due to displacement, and the hardships of living amid the destruction of the essentials of daily life. They emphasized that their steadfastness is a living symbol of our people's will and determination that cannot be broken, showing that their will is stronger than all Zionist machinery of destruction."

The joint statement of the factions stated, "The steadfastness of the resistance fighters and all members of our people, including medical teams, rescue and civil defense workers, journalists, displaced persons, and others, has thwarted plans for displacement and uprooting and recorded an eternal lesson in steadfastness and challenge, which will remain engraved in the brightest pages of Palestinian history. The majestic scenes of the return of our displaced people to the city of Gaza and the large gatherings in its streets, camps, and destroyed alleys are but a manifestation of the will of a people who refuse forced migration and insist on returning to live on their land despite the massive destruction."
