Sources: Anticipated Meeting Between Hamas Delegation and Trump Envoys in Cairo Mediated by Qatar
SadaNews: Sources have informed the newspaper "Yediot Ahronot" that a delegation from Hamas, headed by Khalil al-Hayya, will arrive today in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, to hold important meetings with U.S. President Donald Trump's envoy to the Middle East, Steve Whitkoff, and his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, under Qatari mediation.
The sources mentioned that the discussions will focus on several key issues, most notably the mechanism for the release of Israeli captives held by the movement, especially those who are still alive, alongside Hamas's demands for the Israeli army to withdraw from specific areas in the Gaza Strip, to halt drone activities, and to end military operations.
Information also suggested that during the meetings, the movement will raise the demand for the release of the Palestinian leader Marwan Barghouti, as part of a potential exchange deal.
The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs had confirmed its hosting of delegations from Hamas and Israel tomorrow, Monday, to discuss the prisoner exchange process according to a proposal by U.S. President Donald Trump.
