Release of Samir Halila with a Travel Ban, His Lawyer Seeks to Lift the Condition
SadaNews - Following the arrest of businessman Samir Halila by the Palestinian Preventive Security Force, who had positioned himself as a potential governor of the Gaza Strip about two weeks ago, lawyer Jawad Obaidat stated to SadaNews that he has been released on personal bail and a monetary guarantee of 1,000 Jordanian Dinars, with a condition preventing him from traveling. He clarified that a request will be submitted to the court in about a week to reverse this decision and lift the travel ban, noting that the "travel ban" is the only condition issued by the court and is considered a "normal procedure".

He added that the "charge against businessman Samir is one of the minor charges, which is 'stirring incitement'.
He continued: "Following the investigations conducted by the public prosecution, it became clear that the accusations against him do not rise to this charge".

He indicated that "when the accused is released, the picture becomes clearer for the court, but there are procedures and steps to drop the charges against Samir".
He concluded: "The course of the investigation and court proceedings has been proceeding without any obstacles, and the accused enjoyed all the rights permitted to him under the law".
