German Foreign Minister: Israel's operation in Gaza City is disproportionate.. and we are studying our reactions to the ongoing events
SadaNews - On Wednesday, German Foreign Minister, Johan Vadivol, stated that the "Israeli" military operation in Gaza City is "disproportionate", and that Germany will study its reactions to the ongoing events in Gaza in coordination with its partners in the European Union, including options for imposing sanctions.
He emphasized the necessity of reaching a two-state solution through negotiations between the Palestinians and Israelis, considering that "any solution cannot be imposed from the outside".
Vadivol urged European countries to increase their support for Ukraine, following remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump that Ukraine could regain all its territory occupied by Russia.
Vadivol told "Deutschlandfunk" radio that "we can achieve more if all European countries fulfill their long-standing commitments to Ukraine. We need to consider other financial and military options available to us".
Yesterday, Trump expressed his belief that "Kyiv is capable of regaining all its occupied territories, and that Kyiv must act now as Russia faces "significant" economic problems", comments that were praised by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who described them as a "major shift".
However, it remains unclear whether Trump's words will be met with a significant change in U.S. policy, such as a decision to impose new strict sanctions on Moscow. Trump had previously suggested that Ukraine concede territory to achieve peace.
