Israeli Poll: Netanyahu's Camp Drops to 50 Seats, Eizenkot Gains 8 Seats
SadaNews - A public opinion poll conducted in Israel on Wednesday evening revealed that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's camp would secure only 50 seats if elections were held today, compared to 60 seats for the Zionist opposition, along with 10 seats for the Arab lists.
The poll indicated that Netanyahu's Likud party remains in the lead with 25 seats, while a party led by former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett would receive 21 seats. The "Democrats" (a coalition of Labor and Meretz) would gain 10 seats, while "Yisrael Beiteinu" would secure 9 seats.
The results also showed that the "Shas" party would receive 9 seats, compared to 8 seats for the "Yahadut HaTorah" party, 8 seats for the "Otzma Yehudit" party led by the extremist Itamar Ben Gvir, and 8 seats for the "Yeshar" party led by former Chief of Staff Gadi Eizenkot.
The results grant "Yesh Atid" led by Yair Lapid 8 seats, the joint list of the Arab parties 5 seats, and the "United List" 5 seats, while "Kahol Lavan" led by Benny Gantz falls to 4 seats. The "Religious Zionism" party led by Bezalel Smotrich fails to surpass the electoral threshold.
In the comparison question about who is more suitable for the premiership, Netanyahu received 40% compared to 24% for Lapid, while 36% believed that "neither of them is suitable." Netanyahu also outperformed Gantz with 36% against 20%, while 44% responded that "no one is suitable."
In the comparison between Netanyahu and Eizenkot, the former received 37% compared to 36% for Eizenkot, while 27% said that neither is suitable. In a head-to-head between Netanyahu and Bennett, Netanyahu received 35% compared to 36% for Bennett, while 29% said that "neither of them is suitable."
