Doha Summit Condemns Attack on Qatar and Renew Support for Its Mediation Efforts
SadaNews - The final statement of the Arab-Islamic summit in Doha this evening condemned Israel's brutal aggression against Qatar, deeming it undermines any chances for peace in the region.
It also condemned in the strongest terms Israel's cowardly and illegal attack on the State of Qatar, expressing full solidarity with Doha and its stance in taking steps to respond.
The statement emphasized that aggression against a neutral place for mediation undermines international peace-making efforts, praising Qatar's civilized and wise approach in dealing with the treacherous assault.
It reiterated the firm rejection of any attempts to justify the Israeli aggression against Doha under any pretext, and condemned Israel's repeated threats of potentially targeting Qatar again.
The statement renewed support for the efforts of mediators, Qatar, Egypt, and the United States, to halt the aggression in Gaza, indicating that the assault aims to undermine the mediation efforts aimed at stopping the aggression in the sector.
It also affirmed the stance against Israel's plans to impose a new reality in the region and condemned any Israeli attempts to displace Palestinians under any pretext.
Furthermore, it warned of the repercussions of any Israeli decision to annex part of the occupied territories, calling for urgent international action to put an end to Israel's repeated assaults in the region.
It is noteworthy that the Israeli army launched an airstrike last Tuesday against leaders of Hamas in Doha, an attack that Qatar condemned, stating it reserved the right to respond to this aggression, which killed a member of the Qatari internal security forces.
Meanwhile, Hamas announced the survival of its negotiating delegation led by its head in Gaza, Khalil Al-Hayya, from the assassination attempt, and the killing of his office director, Jihad Labed, and his son, Hamam Al-Hayya, along with three companions.
The Israeli aggression against Qatar's sovereignty has drawn Arab and international condemnations, with calls for the need to deter Tel Aviv to stop the assaults that violate international law.
