
Evacuation of Building at the U.S. Naval Academy After Threats
SadaNews - Officials said that the U.S. Naval Academy in Maryland closed its doors on Thursday and evacuated a building in response to reports of threats directed at the military school, resulting in one person injured.
Lieutenant Naval Limer, a spokesman for the base hosting the academy, stated in a statement that the injured person was airlifted to the hospital and is in stable condition.
Limer said that security at the Naval Support Base Annapolis and local law enforcement agencies responded to reports of suspicious activity.
Limer had earlier mentioned that the academy in Annapolis was under lockdown as a precautionary measure.
Police were stationed near Bancroft Hall, which houses academy students in over 1,600 dormitory rooms. It is considered the largest single college dormitory in the world, according to
the academy's website.
