Second Attack Targets "Solidarity Fleet" Off the Tunisian Coast

SadaNews - The largest ship in the Solidarity Fleet heading to Gaza was attacked by a burning drone off the Tunisian coast late at night, marking the second attack within less than 24 hours.

Tunisian sources stated that firefighting teams and the ship's crew later managed to control the flames, and the crew on board the fleet survived the targeting.

The attack resulted in a fire onboard, but the crew and firefighting teams were able to contain it without any injuries.

Earlier, the organizing committee for the Solidarity Fleet to break the siege from Tunisia stated that the fleet would set sail today, Wednesday, to Gaza as scheduled, regardless of the circumstances.

The international fleet, which includes activists and aid from 44 countries, continues its preparations to proceed with its journey towards the Gaza Strip despite warnings of repeated targeting risks.

The organizing committee from Tunisia stated that the attack is under security investigation, but it will not deter the participants from moving forward with their mission.

In a press conference held in the street after authorities prevented its organization, the organizers emphasized their determination to reach Gaza, asserting that what occurred would not change their destination.

For her part, UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese confirmed that the attack would not disrupt the fleet's mission, and she praised the participants for their actions in support of the besieged people of Gaza.

These developments come as the fleet continues its journey as part of an international initiative aimed at breaking the Israeli naval blockade imposed on the sector for years and delivering urgent humanitarian aid to its residents.
