Hamas Officially Announces the Survival of Its Leaders and Mourns 5 Martyrs and a Qatari
SadaNews - Hamas confirmed on Tuesday evening the failure of the assassination attempt on the leaders of its political bureau in the Qatari capital, Doha.
The movement stated in a statement: "The treacherous attempt by the Zionist occupation to assassinate the Hamas negotiating delegation in the Qatari capital, Doha today, is a heinous crime and a blatant aggression, representing a flagrant violation of all international norms and laws."
It added: "This crime represents an aggression against the sovereignty of the sisterly state of Qatar, which, along with sister Egypt, plays an important and responsible role in mediating and working towards stopping the aggression and reaching an agreement for a ceasefire and prisoner exchange, once again revealing the criminal nature of the occupation and its desire to undermine any opportunities for an agreement."
The movement mourned 6 martyrs, including jihad al-Labed, director of Khalil al-Hayya's office, and the latter's son, Hamam al-Hayya, along with accompanying individuals Abdullah Abdul Wahid, Moamen Hassouna, Ahmad al-Mamlouk, and a Qatari martyr, the police sergeant in the Ministry of Interior, Badr al-Humaidi.
It viewed the targeting of the negotiating delegation at a time when they are discussing U.S. President Donald Trump's latest proposal as clear evidence that Netanyahu and his government do not want to reach any agreement, and that they are deliberately trying to abort all opportunities and undermine international efforts, unconcerned for the lives of their captives held by the resistance, nor for the sovereignty of nations, nor for the safety and stability of the region, according to the statement's text.
Hamas held the U.S. administration jointly responsible with the occupation for this crime, due to its continued support for the aggression and crimes of the occupation against our people, according to the statement's text.
It said: "This crime has proven that the Zionist occupation is a looming danger to the region and the world, and that Netanyahu is trying to erase our national cause and the rights of our people, pushing them towards forced displacement, continuing his criminal plans for extermination, ethnic cleansing, starvation, and displacement."
Hamas called on the countries of the world, the United Nations, and all living forces and free consciences to condemn this criminal aggression against the sisterly state of Qatar, and to take urgent action to pressure the occupation to stop the war of extermination and ethnic cleansing, and to achieve justice for the Palestinian people and support their legitimate right to freedom and self-determination.
It stated that the cowardly assassination attempt will not change our positions and clear demands, which are: the immediate cessation of the aggression against our people, the complete withdrawal of the occupying army from the Gaza Strip, a true prisoner exchange, and the relief and reconstruction for our people, according to its statement.
It affirmed that "these terrorist crimes will not weaken the resolve of our movement and our leadership, nor will they sway us from adhering to the national rights of our people, and continue the path of resistance until the occupation is removed from our land and we establish our independent Palestinian state with its capital in Jerusalem."
