Palestinian Presidency: No Legitimacy for Any Annexation Process Like Settlements, All Condemned and Rejected

SadaNews - Palestinian presidency spokesperson Nabil Abu Rdeina confirmed that there is no legitimacy to any annexation process, like settlements, all of which are condemned and rejected, and will close all doors to achieving security and stability in the region and the world.

Abu Rdeina considered the attempts to annex the West Bank and impose Israeli sovereignty over it as a blatant violation of international law and UN resolutions, especially UN Security Council resolutions 242 of 1967, 338 of 1973, and 2334 of 2016, which invalidate any attempts to legitimize Israel's illegal occupation of Palestinian land.

He stressed that the occupation government seeks through these practices and others to undermine efforts to stop the war against our people in the Gaza Strip and the assaults in the West Bank, and to eliminate any opportunity to achieve the two-state solution, which the world agrees upon and for which the advocates of New York for peace organized, confirming the isolation of Israel and its unilateral actions.

Abu Rdeina called on the international community to take practical and serious steps to prevent Israel from implementing its plans, to recognize the state of Palestine, and to implement international resolutions that support our people's inherent right to self-determination and to establish their independent state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

He reiterated that there is no sovereignty for Israel over the occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem, and that the existence of occupation and colonial settlements is illegal and must be ended in accordance with international law and relevant UN resolutions and the ruling of the International Court of Justice.

Abu Rdeina called on the American administration not to encourage the occupation to continue these dangerous and irresponsible actions.
