SadaNews - The Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported that the Internal Security Service (Shin Bet) has begun to take "special and exceptional measures" to protect senior Israeli government officials.
The source clarified that the intensity of the threats faced by senior Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz, has significantly increased following the assassination of prominent Houthi leaders in Yemen.
He added: "In recent days, the Israeli army has taken special and exceptional measures to protect the Prime Minister, the Defense Minister, and senior officials in light of a clear Yemeni threat of retaliation."
On Saturday, the Houthi group in Yemen announced the assassination of Prime Minister Ahmed Ghaleb al-Rahawi and several ministers in Israeli airstrikes, which they claimed targeted a government workshop in western Yemen last Thursday.
Al-Rahawi is the most prominent political official killed in the Houthi-Israeli confrontation amid the war in the Gaza Strip.
Houthi leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi vowed on Sunday to carry out more missile and drone attacks.
