Russia Targets Ukrainian Military Sites and Kyiv Intercepts Over 100 Drones

SadaNews - Russia announced that it targeted Ukrainian missile manufacturing institutions in intensive strikes, while Kyiv stated that it downed more than 100 drones launched by Moscow, coinciding with casualties in clashes between the two sides.

The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that its forces carried out intensive strikes using precision weapons on Ukrainian missile and aircraft manufacturing facilities and military airports.

The ministry declared the capture of the Ukrainian town of Kamičhi Vakhy in the Donetsk region.

In parallel, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced today, Sunday, that Russian air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 21 Ukrainian drones following a nighttime attack.

The ministry stated on the Telegram app that 11 drones were downed over the Volgograd region in southern Russia, while the others were destroyed over Rostov, Belgorod, and Bryansk in the southwest of the country.

RIA Novosti reported from the governor of Belgorod that 9 people were injured in Ukrainian attacks with 136 drones on 9 towns in the province within 24 hours.

Targeting a Power Facility

The head of the Russian General Staff, Valery Gerasimov, confirmed that Russian forces are launching a continuous attack along almost the entire front line.

He added that his country's forces have controlled more than 3,500 square kilometers in their war against Ukraine since March.

On the other hand, the Ukrainian Air Force announced that it downed 126 out of 142 drones launched by Russian forces on several areas last night.

The Ukrainian military administration stated that Russian shelling in several areas of southern and eastern Ukraine resulted in casualties and injuries.

The Ukrainian General Staff also reported 182 clashes with Russian forces on the battlefronts over the past 24 hours.

For his part, the governor of the Odessa region in Ukraine, Oleg Kiper, stated that a Russian drone attack during the night caused damage to a power facility near the city of Odessa in the south of the country, cutting off electricity to more than 29,000 customers on Sunday morning.

Kiper wrote on Telegram that the most affected areas were the city of Chornomorsk on the outskirts of Odessa, where the attack also caused damage to homes and administrative buildings.

He said, "Vital infrastructure is operating on electric generators," adding that one person was injured as a result of the attack.
