The President Receives a Phone Call from the Prime Minister of Spain

SadaNews - President Mahmoud Abbas received a phone call from the Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, during which he expressed the solidarity of the Spanish government and the Spanish people with the Palestinian people in their quest to obtain their legitimate rights in establishing their state in accordance with international legitimacy and international law.

Sánchez reaffirmed Spain's commitment to supporting the achievement of peace based on the two-state solution, where the State of Palestine lives alongside Israel in security, peace, and stability, thus ensuring security and stability in the region and the world.

The Spanish Prime Minister reiterated the importance of holding the international peace conference and continuing the work of the international coalition to implement the two-state solution and gather support for the recognition of the State of Palestine, calling for an immediate ceasefire, the entry of aid, a halt to settlement activities, an end to settler violence, and proceeding with the political path based on international legitimacy and international law.

For his part, President Abbas thanked the Spanish Prime Minister for his country's supportive positions regarding the rights of the Palestinian people to freedom and independence according to international legitimacy, and for recognizing the State of Palestine in support of solidifying the two-state solution. The President reiterated the importance of international recognitions of the State of Palestine and holding an international peace conference to solidify the two-state solution according to international legitimacy and international law, and to implement the Arab Peace Initiative.

He emphasized the priority of an immediate ceasefire and the delivery of aid to prevent famine, displacement, and killing, the complete withdrawal of Israel from the Gaza Strip, and the assumption of responsibilities by the State of Palestine in the Gaza Strip with Arab and international support. He stressed the necessity of hastening the halt of settlements, settler terrorism, annexation attempts, the release of withheld Palestinian funds, and stopping attacks on Christian and Islamic holy sites in Palestine.
