Jordan's Public Security Reveals Circumstances of Girl's Murder and Burial in a Deserted Area
SadaNews - The spokesperson for the Jordanian Public Security Directorate announced that a special investigative team has been assigned to clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident of finding a girl buried in a deserted area yesterday in the capital governorate.
The media spokesperson confirmed that through the investigations, the identity of the girl was established, and the forensic report indicated that the cause of her death was manual strangulation.
He pointed out that after gathering information and evidence, suspicion was narrowed down to an individual who turned out to be hiding from authorities, and operations to circulate and search for him commenced.
He added that on the morning of this Tuesday, a report was received by the South Amman Police Directorate regarding an individual attempting suicide after he jumped from the second floor of a residential building in the Bayader area of the capital. It was later confirmed after his transfer to the hospital that he was the same suspect in the girl's murder case.
He continued: "During the investigation with the suspect after receiving treatment, he confessed to killing the girl by strangling her following a dispute that occurred between them and that he subsequently buried her in a deserted area in cooperation with one of his relatives, who has been arrested, and the case will be referred to the public prosecutor for the Grand Criminal Court."
