8 Deaths Due to Famine and Malnutrition in the Past 24 Hours
SadaNews - The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced today, Sunday, that 8 citizens, including a child, have died due to famine and malnutrition recorded by hospitals in the Gaza Strip during the past 24 hours.
It reported that the total number of victims of famine and malnutrition has risen to 289 martyrs, including 115 children.
It is noteworthy that the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip continues to worsen amid the blockade and shortage of food and medical supplies, with severe famine intertwining with a genocide being perpetrated by Israel since October 7, 2023.
Since March 2, 2025, the occupation authorities have closed all crossings with the Gaza Strip and prevented the entry of most food and medical aid, leading to the spread of famine within the territory.
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) had warned that malnutrition among children under the age of five has doubled between March and June as a result of the ongoing blockade.
The World Health Organization confirmed that malnutrition rates in Gaza have reached alarming levels, and that the deliberate blockade and delay of aid have caused the loss of many lives, with nearly one in five children under the age of five in Gaza City suffering from severe malnutrition.
