
Saudi-Egyptian Meeting in Neom Reviews Relations and Developments
SadaNews - Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman, discussed the relations between the two countries with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, and ways to enhance them in various fields.
This came during the reception of President Sisi by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman at Neom Palace, yesterday evening, where they discussed the latest developments in regional events, primarily the situation in Palestine.
From the Saudi side, the reception was attended by: Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Musaed al-Aiban, Minister of State, Member of the Council of Ministers, and National Security Advisor, and Khalid al-Humaidan, Head of General Intelligence.
Meanwhile, the Egyptian side was represented by: Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration, and Major General Hassan Rasad, Head of General Intelligence.
Ambassador Mohammed El-Shanawy, spokesperson for the Egyptian presidency, stated in a press release that the meeting included in-depth discussions on several files of bilateral cooperation, in addition to developments in regional and international issues of mutual interest; the Egyptian efforts to achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip were reviewed in coordination with various parties.
El-Shanawy conveyed President Sisi's affirmation of Egypt's support for Saudi initiatives regarding the Palestinian issue, most recently the outcomes of the "Two-State Solution" conference hosted at the United Nations headquarters in New York, co-chaired by Riyadh and Paris.
In this context, the two leaders stressed the need to expedite the entry of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip without obstacles, to release hostages and detainees, and to reject any attempts to displace Palestinians from their land or to re-impose Israeli military occupation on the Gaza Strip, while also emphasizing the necessity to cease Israeli practices against Palestinians in the West Bank.
The Egyptian spokesperson noted that the two sides emphasized their determination to continue joint coordination and consultations, especially in light of the rapid developments occurring in the Middle East, underscoring the importance of supporting the stability of the countries in the region and preserving their territorial integrity and the safety of their national institutions.
President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi arrived in Neom on Thursday afternoon, on a special visit to the Kingdom, where he was welcomed by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman at the airport.
Ambassador El-Shanawy clarified in a statement on Thursday morning that "the visit comes within the framework of the longstanding historical relations between the two countries, and embodies the leaders' eagerness to continue enhancing bilateral cooperation, alongside ongoing coordination and consultation on regional and international issues of mutual interest."
