Iraqji: Israel is Trying to Influence Public Opinion in Iran

SadaNews - Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Iraqji ruled out the possibility of Israel launching an attack on his country in the near future.

Iraqji stated in televised remarks on Thursday evening: "As an expert in international relations, I do not believe that war will break out anytime soon."

"Armed Forces Must Be Prepared"

He also considered that Israel is trying to exaggerate and negatively influence public opinion in Iran by creating the perception that war will erupt in the future.

However, he affirmed that "the armed forces must always be on alert, and the government must be ready for any emergency, as preparedness is the most effective factor in preventing war."

The 12-Day War

Israel launched an attack on Iran on June 13 that lasted 12 days and targeted military and nuclear sites as well as civilian facilities.

It also assassinated military leaders and nuclear scientists, while Tehran responded by targeting Israeli military and intelligence positions with ballistic missiles and drones.

The United States entered this unprecedented confrontation, and on June 22, it attacked important Iranian nuclear facilities, asserting that it had ended Iran's nuclear program.

Tehran retaliated by bombarding the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar. Then, on June 24, Washington announced a ceasefire between Tel Aviv and Tehran.

Israel and its ally the United States accuse Iran of seeking to produce nuclear weapons, while Iranian authorities assert that their program is designed for peaceful purposes, including electricity generation.

Before the Israeli attack on Iran, Tehran and Washington had engaged in five rounds of indirect negotiations regarding the Iranian nuclear program.
