Palestinian Forces and Factions Discuss Ceasefire Efforts in Gaza and Overall Developments in Cairo
SadaNews - Palestinian forces and factions held a meeting today (Thursday) in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, with the participation of several leaders from Palestinian national and Islamic forces to discuss the overall political and field developments, especially those related to the extermination and starvation war being waged by the occupation against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. Furthermore, they discussed efforts to halt this ongoing aggression, which has resulted in massacres, comprehensive destruction of infrastructure, and deliberate targeting of homes, hospitals, and civil facilities in clear violation of all international laws and norms.
According to a statement reviewed by SadaNews after several hours of in-depth discussions, the participants concluded the following, as stated in the text of the statement:
1. We express our full appreciation and commendation to our steadfast Palestinian people in Gaza and their heroic resistance, who have set an unprecedented example in facing the fiercest and harshest aggression the region and the nation has ever encountered. Our people have demonstrated extraordinary capability for patience, giving, sacrifice, and heroism, and their legendary steadfastness in the face of the most intense war machine known in modern history. In this context, the factions assure our people that they will not cease their relentless efforts to stop the aggression and the criminal war against our people.
2. The forces and factions affirm that the top priority at this stage is the immediate and comprehensive cessation of aggression, lifting the unjust siege on Gaza, and ensuring the entrance of humanitarian aid securely and without hindrances. They emphasize their full responsiveness to initiatives and proposals for a solution that meets our national requirements, including ending the aggression, the withdrawal of occupation forces, and lifting the unjust siege.
3. We appreciate the significant efforts made by the Arab Republic of Egypt, led by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and the State of Qatar in supporting the Palestinian cause, working to end our people's suffering from starvation, and providing humanitarian and relief assistance to the Gaza Strip to alleviate our people's suffering. Additionally, they commend its efforts to achieve Palestinian national unity and its direct engagement in indirect negotiations in coordination and partnership with our brothers in the State of Qatar, led by His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to stop the aggression against our people.
4. The attendees addressed the enemy's plans aimed at reoccupying the Gaza Strip and attempting to displace our people or a large part of them under various names, such as imposing control over the sector or similar terms that do not reflect the reality of the crimes being committed against law and humanity. They stressed the necessity of confronting these plans and making every effort to stop them immediately.
5. The discussions included efforts to stop this continuous savage aggression amidst the obstructive Zionist stances and the conflicting news propagated by the enemy regarding its position on these efforts, the latest of which was the unjustified withdrawal from negotiations in Doha after indirect talks were nearing a serious agreement.
6. The Palestinian forces and factions warn of the Zionist settlement project in the occupied West Bank, which seeks to impose complete control, displace the population, confiscate lands, and introduce millions of settlers within a gradual replacement plan. The crimes of the occupation include silent displacement, land confiscation, violations of sacred sites, and the temporal and spatial division of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. The forces affirm the necessity of establishing urgent national plans to confront this project, protect the Palestinian and Arab presence, and thwart colonial schemes.
7. Confronting the Zionist plans in the West Bank and Gaza requires building a genuine and serious national unity. In this context, we call on the sisterly Egypt to sponsor and host an emergency national meeting for all Palestinian forces and factions, aiming to agree on the national strategy and the practical program to confront the plans of the occupation, stop the genocide, achieve our people's goals and aspirations, and especially restore our national unity and establish the independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
8. It is emphasized that what is called the "Greater Israel Vision," which was stressed by the enemy's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, is an expansionist Zionist project that threatens Arab national security and the rights of the Palestinian people, targeting Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iraq, and Lebanon in particular. It requires joint Arab efforts to thwart it and protect the nation.
9. The attendees praised the international mobilization in support of the Palestinian people, affirming the isolation of the Zionist entity, except for the extremists who provide it with political cover and logistical support to continue this insane war.
10. The forces and factions call upon the Arab brothers and friends around the world, as well as United Nations organizations and human rights institutions, to bear their historical and legal responsibilities towards our Palestinian people, and to exert serious pressure on the occupation to immediately stop its crimes and hold it accountable for its continuous violations.
In conclusion, the Palestinian forces and factions confirm that they will continue to make every effort to end our people's suffering and halt the genocide war, while also sending greetings of reverence and respect for our people's steadfastness and insistence on their land and their established rights.
