Netanyahu Discusses Plan to Control "What Remains of Hamas Strongholds" with Trump
SadaNews - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke with U.S. President Donald Trump about Israel's plans to take control of Gaza, according to a statement from the Israeli Prime Minister's office on Sunday.
Netanyahu's office reported: "The two sides discussed Israel's plans to control the remaining strongholds of Hamas in Gaza to end the war by securing the release of hostages and defeating the movement."
Earlier today, Netanyahu confirmed that the plan approved by the security council to take control of Gaza City "does not aim to occupy Gaza," but represents "the best way to end the war" that has been ongoing in the Palestinian enclave for 22 months.
Netanyahu also stated during a press conference in Jerusalem: "We have completed a large part of the mission, and we currently control between 70 to 75 percent of Gaza."
