France Football Awards 3 New Prizes for Female Players at the 2025 Ballon d'Or Ceremony

SadaNews - For the first time, the Ballon d'Or award for 2025, presented by the French magazine "France Football" to the best players, will be awarded an equal number of prizes for both women and men.

Three new awards are set to be launched this year: the Copa Award for Women, the Yashin Award for Women, and the Gerd Müller Award for Women, during the ceremony scheduled for September 22nd.

While only one individual award has been granted to female players in the past—the Ballon d'Or for Best Female Player—France Football is introducing a new innovation in 2025, now granting three additional awards to female players, equating them with those awarded to male players in previous years.

However, as in the previous year, the two awards for Best Women's Coach and Best Women's Club will still be awarded.

The official website of "Radio Monte Carlo" conveyed a statement from the organizing committee of the Ballon d'Or, disclosing the launch of the Copa Award for Women to honor the best young female player, the Yashin Award for Women to honor the best goalkeeper, and the Gerd Müller Award for Women to honor the best scorer for the period from August 1, 2024, to July 31, 2025, taking into account the goals scored by each player with their club and national team.

As with the Ballon d'Or, the nominees for these new categories for women will be announced tomorrow, Thursday, and it is expected that the Best Scorer Award will go to Eva Bajor, who scored 47 goals and provided 19 assists in 61 matches with FC Barcelona and the Polish national team.

The names of all the female winners will be revealed during the traditional ceremony held at the Châtelet Theatre.
