The Public Prosecution Fines Ahmed El Sakka.. Here’s the Reason

SadaNews - The Public Prosecution in Sheikh Zayed issued a criminal order against the artist Ahmed El Sakka, fining him 200 pounds, following accusations from his ex-wife Maha El Soghayar of assaulting her inside a well-known compound in Sheikh Zayed, Giza, Egypt.

A judicial source revealed that the Public Prosecution, after reviewing the case documents and finding that the crime constituted a misdemeanor or minor offense that did not necessitate referral to court, issued a criminal order in accordance with Articles 323 to 330 of the Criminal Procedure Law, stipulating that a fine of 200 pounds should suffice without referring the accused to a trial session before a judge.

The media figure Maha El Soghayar and her driver filed an official report at the Zayed police station, accusing her ex-husband, artist Ahmed El Sakka, of verbally and physically assaulting them, in an incident that occurred within the compound in 6th of October City, as stated in the report.

According to the complainants' account, the incident began when Maha El Soghayar and her driver entered the compound and were unexpectedly confronted by Ahmed El Sakka's car blocking their way, attempting to prevent their entry, causing a state of confusion.

Article 323 of the Egyptian Criminal Procedure Law states: "If the Public Prosecution believes that the crime does not warrant a penalty harsher than a fine, it may request the court to issue a criminal order imposing only a fine."

El Sakka and Maha El Soghayar's Divorce

Egyptian artist Ahmed El Sakka announced his official separation from his wife, media figure Maha El Soghayar, after over 26 years of marriage, which produced three children: Yassin, Hamza, and Nadia.

On May 21, El Sakka wrote on his Facebook account: "To everyone who is wondering.. I and Mrs. Maha Mohamed Abdel Moneim have been separated for six months, and the divorce was finalized about two months ago, and I am currently focusing on my children, work, close friends, my mother, and my sister. I wish all the best and privacy for the mother of my children."

El Sakka and his wife's lives witnessed a period of calm and stability during the early years of their marriage, but this calm was disrupted by a storm of recurring crises, with rumors of their separation chasing them several times in the past months, which both parties always denied. However, after news of their separation leaked to the artistic community, Ahmed El Sakka felt compelled to announce it to put an end to the discussions surrounding the issue.
