Gaza Health Records 3 Deaths from Guillain-Barré Syndrome
SadaNews - The Ministry of Health in Gaza has warned of a serious surge in cases of acute flaccid paralysis and Guillain-Barré syndrome among children in the Gaza Strip, due to atypical infections and the worsening situation of acute malnutrition.
Medical examinations revealed the presence of non-polio enteroviruses, confirming a fertile environment for the spread of infectious diseases that is spiraling out of control.
The health ministry stated that two of the fatalities were children under the age of 15, who died after attempts to rescue them failed due to the lack of necessary treatment caused by the blockade.
Health officials warn that the continuation of this environmental situation and the unavailability of necessary treatments threaten the widespread spread of disease within the Gaza Strip.
The Ministry of Health has urged all relevant parties, international organizations, and humanitarian groups to urgently intervene to provide medicines and treatments.
