Hamas: Whittaker's Visit to Aid Distribution Centers is a "Theatrical Performance to Polish the Occupation"
SadaNews - Hamas condemned the statements of the American envoy, Steve Whittaker, during his visit to the aid distribution centers in the Gaza Strip on Saturday, describing them as "a pre-scripted theatrical performance aimed at misleading public opinion and polishing the image of the occupation."
The movement accused the U.S. administration of being a "full partner in the crime of starvation and genocide," warning that this visit provides Israel with a "political cover to continue the systematic killing of children and civilians."
In a statement issued by the movement, it said: "The visit made by American envoy Steve Whittaker to the aid distribution centers overseen by the so-called 'Gaza Humanitarian Foundation' is nothing more than a pre-scripted theatrical performance, designed to mislead public opinion and polish the image of the occupation, granting it political cover to manage starvation and continue the systematic killing of children and unarmed civilians from our people in the Gaza Strip."
The statement added that "Whittaker's misleading statements, alongside the broadcast of directed promotional images attempting to portray the peaceful distribution of aid, are contradicted by the realities on the ground, where more than 1,300 innocent victims of starvation have fallen to the bullets of the occupation army and the personnel of the 'Gaza foundation', which was established to complete the chapters of killing and genocide."
Hamas emphasized that "the American administration is a full partner in the crime of starvation and genocide that occurs before the eyes and ears of the entire world," and called on the movement the "U.S. administration to take its historical responsibility, by lifting the cover off the crime of the century in Gaza."
It urged them to "move towards an agreement for a ceasefire that leads to ending the aggression, withdrawing the occupation army, and lifting the unjust siege on our people, instead of aligning with the policies and violations of the occupation that lessen the dignity of humanity, which lead only to deepening the humanitarian catastrophe and perpetuating the conflict in Palestine and the region."
