Following Russian Shelling on Kyiv: 6 Killed and More Than 20 Injured
SadaNews - Ukrainian authorities announced that at least 6 people were killed and more than 20 injured in a Russian missile and drone attack targeting the capital, Kyiv, on Thursday.
Interior Minister Igor Klymenko wrote in a post on Telegram that "the enemy attacked the capital last night with missiles and drones. The Sviatoshynskyi and Solomianskyi districts were the most affected. In total, by 6:30 AM in Kyiv, one person was killed and more than 20 others were injured."
He added, "One of the missiles hit a residential building, and a whole part of it was destroyed," noting that two people were rescued alive from the rubble.
The head of the military administration in the capital, Tymur Tkachенко, explained that the attack targeted about ten areas in the city, including an educational institution. He mentioned that there were 27 injured, emphasizing that the deceased was a woman.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko stated that the blast wave from the explosions shattered glass in a pediatric unit of a hospital without causing injuries.
In its annual briefing, the Ukrainian military reported that there were 1,292 attacks with explosive drones and 50 Russian airstrikes on Wednesday.
