The Palestinian Forces Alliance Rejects President Abbas's Step Regarding National Council Elections

SadaNews - The Palestinian Forces Alliance expressed its categorical rejection on Monday of what it described as the "unilateral" step taken by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to restructure the Palestinian National Council both internally and externally, based on the political program of the Palestine Liberation Organization.

It pointed out that this program recognizes Israel, adheres to the Oslo Accords which relinquished 78% of historical Palestine, and contradicts the national constants and inalienable rights of Palestinians, foremost among them the right of return, liberation of the land, and resistance to occupation, according to its statement.

The Palestinian Forces Alliance stated in its statement: Our Palestinian people are going through a national liberation phase, and the fundamental entry point to achieve genuine national unity is agreement on a resistant national project that restores the Palestinian cause and confronts the occupation and its liquidation projects, especially displacement, judaization, settlement, normalization, and liquidation, away from the approach of settlement and reliance on the international community which has proven its failure.
