The Palestinian Forces Alliance Rejects President Abbas's Step Regarding National Council Elections

SadaNews - The Palestinian Forces Alliance expressed its categorical rejection on Monday of what it described as the "unilateral" step taken by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to restructure the Palestinian National Council both internally and externally, based on the political program of the Palestine Liberation Organization.

It pointed out that this program recognizes Israel, adheres to the Oslo Accords which relinquished 78% of historical Palestine, and contradicts the national constants and inalienable rights of Palestinians, foremost among them the right of return, liberation of the land, and resistance to occupation, according to its statement.

The statement continued: This step reflects the continuation of the approach of exclusivity and exclusion, and an attempt to impose political and institutional realities in isolation from national consensus, at a critical time when the Palestinian cause is facing the largest liquidation conspiracies, through genocide and starvation against our patient people in the Gaza Strip, perpetuating settlement and displacement projects in the occupied West Bank, and advancing the plan to judaize Jerusalem and divide the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque. According to the text of the statement.

It emphasized that the reconstruction of the Palestine Liberation Organization's institutions, including the National Council, must be conducted through a comprehensive national dialogue that includes all forces, factions, and national components, without preconditions, and based on adherence to national constants and the option of resistance, ensuring true representation of our people in the homeland and diaspora, according to democratic and consensus-based foundations. According to the text of the statement.

The Palestinian Forces Alliance stated in its statement: Our Palestinian people are going through a national liberation phase, and the fundamental entry point to achieve genuine national unity is agreement on a resistant national project that restores the Palestinian cause and confronts the occupation and its liquidation projects, especially displacement, judaization, settlement, normalization, and liquidation, away from the approach of settlement and reliance on the international community which has proven its failure.

It called on the masses and forces to confront what it described as the path of exclusivity and preemption, and to work together to build a unified national front that restores the role of the Palestine Liberation Organization in defending our land, people, and sanctities, not as a tool to legitimize settlement, relinquishment, and security coordination with the occupation. According to the text of the statement.
