Britain Prepares to Launch a Campaign to Rearm Ukraine Within 50 Days

SadaNews - The "Daily Telegraph" reported that British Defense Minister John Healey will call on Western countries during the Ukraine Support Contact Group meeting to increase military aid to Kyiv and rearm its forces within 50 days.

According to the newspaper, Healey is expected to urge the launch of a campaign to arm Ukraine that will last for 50 days in his speech.

He will also express his support for the proposal made by U.S. President Donald Trump, who threatened on July 14 to impose new sanctions on Russia and its trading partners if Moscow and Washington do not reach an agreement regarding the resolution of the Ukrainian crisis within this period.

The newspaper further noted that Germany and Britain may reach an agreement during the meeting to purchase additional missiles designated for air defense systems, funded by Berlin to the tune of 170 million euros.

In a related context, a German government source previously stated that Merz and Starmer would agree on the joint production of long-range weapons "to deter Russia" as part of the signing of the friendship treaty between Britain and Germany.

For its part, Moscow has repeatedly stated that the supply of weapons to Ukraine hinders resolution and directly involves NATO countries in the conflict, describing it as "playing with fire."

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov indicated that any shipments containing weapons to Ukraine would be legitimate targets for Russia.

The Kremlin also mentioned that the influx of weapons to Ukraine from the West does not aid negotiations and will have a negative impact.
