Maariv: The Israeli Army Complains of a Shortage of Ground Forces Leaders
SadaNews - The Hebrew newspaper "Maariv" reported that the Israeli army is currently facing a shortage estimated at 300 officers in the positions of ground forces unit leaders.
The newspaper stated that the officer shortage is concentrated in the engineering corps, which is suffering from a severe lack of unit and demolition team leaders.
It pointed out that the army acknowledges the difficulty of convincing competent soldiers to join the officers' course, which has forced it, over the past few months, to appoint regular and reserve unit officers who have not passed the company commanders' course.
Meanwhile, Maariv quoted the Israeli army spokesperson's office stating that there are no gaps in the unit leaders in the regular battalions and units.
