Ma'ariv: The Israeli Army Complains of a Shortage of Ground Forces Leaders
SadaNews - The Hebrew newspaper "Ma'ariv" reported that the Israeli army is currently facing a shortage estimated at 300 officers in the positions of ground force unit leaders.
The newspaper stated that the shortage of officers is concentrated in the engineering corps, which is suffering from a severe lack of unit leaders and engineering and dismantling teams.
It pointed out that the army acknowledges the difficulty of persuading qualified soldiers to enroll in the officer training course, which has forced it, over the past months, to appoint officers from regular and reserve units who have not completed the company commanders' course.
Meanwhile, Ma'ariv quoted the Israeli army spokesperson's office as saying that there are no gaps in the leaders of the companies in the regular battalions and units.
