Huckabee during his visit to Taybeh: Desecrating a sacred place is a terrorist act and a crime, and we call for severe penalties on its perpetrators

SadaNews - The US Ambassador to Tel Aviv, Mike Huckabee, stated there that any desecration of a sacred place that is supposed to be a place of worship, whether it is a church, mosque, or synagogue, is unacceptable, a terrorist act, and a crime.

In a speech during his visit today to the village of Taybeh, east of Ramallah, the ambassador called for severe penalties against the perpetrators of this crime.

He added, "What happened here is an absolute farce and tragedy, and I want to do everything in my power to inform the people of this peaceful village that we will definitely insist on pursuing those who commit acts of terrorism and violence in the town of Taybeh - or anywhere else - and finding them and prosecuting them. Not just reprimanding, that's not enough. People must pay a price for their actions that destroy not only what pertains to others but also what belongs to God. This is a violation of the sacred. It contradicts sanctity."

He continued, "I am very grateful for the dialogue that we were able to conduct here today. It was very candid and genuine, and we heard what we needed to hear today. What we needed to hear were the precise details of what exactly happened. We were provided with information that was incredibly useful, not general, but precise and specific."

According to SadaNews, he said, "We came to express our solidarity with people who only want to live their lives in peace, to be able to go to their land, and to be able to go to their places of worship. This is a largely Christian community, and it is a community that deserves respect and deserves to be treated with dignity. No less than that."
