Burhan Announces the Launch of the "Great Liberation Battle" According to Sudanese Military Sources
SadaNews - Informed sources revealed that the Chairman of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council, Abdel Fattah Burhan, issued directives to begin a "comprehensive invasion to regain control over the sites and cities occupied by the "Rapid Support" forces.
In detail, the informed military sources stated that the General Command of the Sudanese Armed Forces is moving towards implementing what it termed the "Great Liberation Battle" aimed at "completely eradicating the rebellion and restoring the state's prestige over the entire national territory without exception".
It was revealed that the Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Burhan, issued direct orders to initiate a comprehensive invasion aimed at "decisively handling the armed rebellion and regaining complete control over the sites and cities occupied by the Rapid Support forces".
According to military sources, the new decision was based on an accurate field assessment prepared by the Operations and Intelligence Authority of the armed forces, confirming the full readiness of the Sudanese army to conduct qualitative and rapid operations in strategic axes, notably in the states of Kordofan and Darfur, which have witnessed a rapid escalation in security tensions for a long time.
For its part, the Sudanese Police Presidency has deployed new vehicles to support the police presence and maintain security in Khartoum state.
Since April 15, 2023, Sudan has witnessed violent clashes between the Rapid Support forces and the Sudanese army. On March 26, the Sudanese Armed Forces announced the complete liberation of the capital, Khartoum, from the control of the Rapid Support forces.
