Kremlin Deputy Director: Russia Could Not Withstand Unprecedented Sanction Pressure
SadaNews - The Deputy Director of the Kremlin Administration, Maksim Oreshkin, stated that Russia was not only unable to withstand the pressure of unprecedented sanctions but has also updated its economy.
Oreshkin mentioned during the BRICS business forum in Brazil on Saturday, "More than 30,000 sanctions have been imposed against our country, which is a record number that is about twice as many as all the measures taken against other countries."
He continued: "They tried to disconnect us from the payment infrastructure, destroy supply chains, and hit the main sectors of the economy, but none of those plans succeeded."
Oreshkin described the freezing of Russian assets as a "financial aggression," indicating that Russia has been able to withstand it.
He said: "We had faith in our country, the people, and the technologies, and we achieved real breakthroughs and made our economy more sovereign and stable."
It is noteworthy that Western countries imposed a record number of sanctions on Russia following the start of the Russian military operation in Ukraine in February 2022.
