Salam: The Armed Parades in Beirut Are "Unacceptable"
SadaNews - Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam stated today (Saturday) that the armed parades witnessed in Beirut are "unacceptable in any way and under any pretext."
Salam added in statements published on his account on the "X" platform that he has asked the Ministers of Interior and Justice to arrest those responsible for the armed parades in Beirut and refer them for investigation.
A group of armed young men appeared in one of the streets of the capital Beirut during the commemoration of Ashura.
For his part, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun warned yesterday (Friday) against "internal enemies who play on sectarian sentiments to serve their interests with foreign parties."
He denied the circulating news in the recent period, particularly those talking about groups entering Lebanon and those indicating preparations for incursions on the Lebanese-Syrian border. He emphasized the necessity of Lebanese solidarity and joint efforts to face challenges and bolster stability and prosperity, stressing that national unity is the true response to all challenges.
