
Saudi Foreign Minister: Priority is a Ceasefire in Gaza
SadaNews - Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan emphasized during a press conference in Moscow today, Friday, that the priority now is to reach a permanent ceasefire in Gaza.
The Saudi Foreign Minister arrived in the Russian capital on Thursday for an official visit and held talks today with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov at the Russian Foreign Ministry in Moscow.
In a joint press conference following the talks, Minister bin Farhan affirmed the need to return to a diplomatic track regarding Iran's nuclear program, stressing the importance of Tehran's full cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency.
For his part, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced that Russia hopes for the Kingdom's participation in the first Russian-Arab summit to be held on October 15 of this year in Moscow, according to the Russian news agency Sputnik.
According to the Russian Foreign Minister, the eighth ministerial meeting of the strategic dialogue "Russia-Gulf Cooperation Council" will be held in the city of Sochi on September 11.
Lavrov welcomed the Kingdom's decision to participate as a guest of honor in the 29th edition of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
He noted that this will take place in the year that Russia and Saudi Arabia celebrate the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
