Kyiv: Intense Russian Drone Attack on the Capital
SadaNews - Authorities in Kyiv announced in the early hours of Friday morning that the Ukrainian capital was targeted in an attack involving dozens of Russian combat drones.
Timur Takashchenko, the head of the city's military administration, wrote on Telegram: "According to preliminary information, we have several fires in the Solomianskyi district."
All fires occurred in residential buildings.
Takashchenko stated that injuries are likely, but he has not provided any further details so far. Damage from the drones has also been reported in at least four other areas. Anti-aircraft fire has been heard in the city for hours.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, the Russian military also used at least one hypersonic missile.
Earlier, Donetsk Governor Vadim Vilaskin reported that at least five people were killed due to Russian attacks in the eastern Ukrainian region, and 12 others were injured.
Two men were killed in the contested city of Pokrovsk near the frontline, and three others in the villages of Bilohirka and Yelenevka. Vilaskin again urged the remaining residents in the area to flee to safer regions.
Ukraine has been resisting a large-scale Russian invasion for more than three years with Western support.
