Trump Hosts Netanyahu at the White House on July 7
SadaNews - A U.S. official revealed that President Donald Trump intends to host Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House on July 7, at a time when Trump is pressing for a ceasefire in Gaza.
White House spokesperson Caroline Levitt told reporters in a press briefing on Monday that Ron Dermer, Israel's Minister of Strategic Affairs, will visit Washington this week to meet with White House officials.
An Israeli official in Washington also confirmed the meeting. The official added that Trump and Netanyahu are expected to discuss issues related to Iran, Gaza, Syria, and other regional challenges.
Israel intensified its attacks on northern Gaza on Monday, following Trump's urging on Sunday to end the ongoing war that has lasted for 20 months, stating, "Make a deal in Gaza and bring back the hostages."
Israeli airstrikes killed at least 60 people across Gaza on Monday in some of the fiercest assaults in weeks.
Levitt told reporters that the Trump administration remains in constant contact with the Israeli government, adding that the president considers ending the war in Gaza and retrieving the remaining hostages held by Hamas a top priority.
