Palestine Participates in the International Tourism and Travel Trade Fair in Berlin
SadaNews Economy - Palestine participated in the ITB Berlin International Tourism and Travel Trade Fair 2026, the largest travel and tourism trade fair in the world, supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) through the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), in collaboration with the Holy Land Incoming Tour Operators Association and the Embassy of the State of Palestine in Germany.
The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities stated today, Thursday, that the fair attracted interest from international tour operators, travel experts, and media representatives, highlighting the ongoing global interest in Palestine as a tourist destination rich in religious and cultural heritage, historical landmarks, and diverse natural landscapes.
It added that the Palestinian delegation at this globally leading tourism fair included representatives from the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, members of the private Palestinian tourism sector, and WideOyster Media, an international media and creative agency specialized in travel, which designed and built the Palestine pavilion and developed promotional materials that showcase Palestine as an independent tourist destination.
During the fair, the Palestinian Ambassador to Germany, Laith Arafa, visited the Palestine pavilion, where he met with representatives from the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and discussed future cooperation opportunities aimed at enhancing international promotion of Palestinian tourism.
The ministry explained that the ITB Berlin fair, which celebrated its 60th anniversary this year, gathered nearly 6000 exhibitors from over 160 countries, affirming its position as one of the most important global platforms for the travel and tourism sector.
The ministry emphasized its commitment to enhancing Palestine's presence on the global tourism stage and working with international partners to promote meaningful and sustainable travel experiences in the country.
