Decline in the Industrial Production Index in Palestine during October

SadaNews Economy - The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics announced that the Industrial Production Index recorded a decline of 7.48% during the month of October 2025 compared to September 2025, where the Industrial Production Index decreased to 85.72 during October 2025 compared to 92.65 during September 2025 (base year 2019 = 100).

The activities of electricity, gas, steam supply, and air conditioning recorded a decline of 10.37%, with a relative importance of 7.38% of total industrial activities.

Manufacturing activities also recorded a decline of 7.59% during October 2025 compared to the previous month, which represents a relative importance of 87.89% of total industrial activities.

In terms of sub-activities that have a significant relative impact on the overall index, some manufacturing activities recorded a decline during October 2025 compared to the previous month, the most important of which are: tobacco products manufacturing, furniture manufacturing, printing and reproduction of recorded media, chemicals and chemical products manufacturing, clothing manufacturing, and wood and wood products manufacturing.

On the other hand, the index recorded an increase in some activities, the most significant of which are: manufacturing of fabricated metal products excluding machinery and equipment, manufacturing of other non-metallic minerals, manufacturing of basic pharmaceutical products and their preparations, food products manufacturing, paper and paper products manufacturing, and textile manufacturing.

Water supply and sewage, waste management, and treatment activities recorded a decline of 2.23%, which represents a relative importance of 1.84% of total industrial activities.

Meanwhile, mining and quarrying activities recorded an increase of 5.49%, which has a relative importance of 2.89% of total industrial activities.

The statistics department noted that due to the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, all industrial production facilities in the Gaza Strip have been suspended from operation for October 2025.
