The Ministry of National Economy Announces the Opening of Olive Oil Import Applications
SadaNews Economy - On Tuesday, the Ministry of National Economy announced the opening of applications for importing olive oil from abroad, based on the Cabinet Decision No. (10/87/19/م.و/م.م) and the recommendations of the technical committee for establishing mechanisms for importing agricultural food products, especially olive oil.
The General Administration of Trade in the Ministry of National Economy, in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, confirmed that specialized companies wishing to import should go to the Ministry of Economy headquarters - the government complex building in Ramallah - to fill out the necessary applications and attach the following documents:
1- A foreign trade dealing card.
2- The importer must be a trader specialized in importing food products.
3- Company registration certificate.
4- A valid tax clearance certificate for Value Added Tax and Palestinian customs.
5- A valid tax clearance certificate for income tax.
The ministry clarified that the deadline for submitting applications is Sunday, December 14, 2025, and that any applications submitted after this date will not be presented to the relevant committee.
It was also indicated that the import process will be in containers of 8 liters or less, and must carry a statement label compliant with the mandatory technical specifications (100), noting that the total allowable quantity for import is only 5000 tons.
The ministry stressed that the imported oil must be of the Extra Virgin Olive Oil type in accordance with Palestinian specifications, and that all traders must import their allocated quota before March 31, 2026, and provide the ministry with the customs data for the quantities as soon as they arrive.
